Fabian Zelaya's dark desk setup — California, USA
In their own words
To begin your desk setup journey, prioritize functionality. Pay attention to ergonomics to create a comfortable and productive workspace. As you go along, incorporate your own personality into the setup, making it truly yours. Remember, this is a personal space meant to inspire you on a daily basis. Embrace the learning process and don't strive for perfection right from the start. Every adjustment will bring new insights and help you improve your setup over time.

Observation notes
To begin your desk setup journey, prioritize functionality.
Fabian's corner is treated like a small studio — acoustic foam panels line the walls, and a pegboard holds a growing collection of mechanical keyboards next to coiled red cable and a mounted camera. Two curved monitors stack code editors and reference windows across both screens, with a RØDE boom arm swinging a mic in from the side.
The Hexcal Studio riser hides its own drawer of cables and dongles below the desk surface, while the desk itself carries an F1 die-cast car, a HomePod mini, and a phone clipped into a Joy-Con controller for something other than work. Function first, personality layered in after — the order his own notes recommend.
