About

Beyond Desk, by Hexcal

Work is being redesigned in real time — and most of it will never be written down. This is the ledger that writes it down: real workspaces, on the record, kept by the workspace company that founded and hosts the World Desk Setup Festival. Every entry recorded as submitted. Every claim standing on what it can show.

The World Desk Setup Festival

Once a year, the ledger becomes a stage. Workspaces from this registry compete on a public rubric — multiple brands, one open scoresheet, nothing decided behind closed doors. The award records of 2025 and 2026 are kept at permanent addresses, and every winner links back to the real desk that earned it.

Trophies go home. The record stays.

What the record holds

Why this ledger exists

01

Judgment and taste

When AI does more of the doing, the human part of work gets sharper — judgment, taste, direction. The tools change what a working day looks like, but they do not decide what is worth making or how it should feel to make it. Those calls stay with people, and the places people work from are where the calls become visible.

02

An observation post

AI is rewriting the workday in real time, and nobody knows yet what it settles into. Beyond Desk watches where that change becomes physical: the desks, rooms, and rigs where new ways of working stop being talk and start being furniture, cabling, and habit. We record what we see, date it, and keep the record.

03

Authorship

How you work is becoming something you design, not something you are given. A workspace is one of the few work decisions that is entirely yours, and each setup in this ledger is treated as a signed answer to the same open question — logged in the owner's own words first, with our notes kept separate.
