Rosdi Annuar's warm wood desk setup — Selangor, Malaysia
In their own words
Firstly, there’s the obvious ones like planning your workspace, getting inspiration from the likes of Instagram or Pinterest, etc. My advice is don’t get caught up in trends or flashy products as they can be expensive and impractical for your type of work. Buy only the things that you need, not want. If it is expensive, look for alternatives, and if there are none, you won’t regret saving up for it. Planning and measuring are key to getting it right, and don’t rush the process.

Observation notes
Firstly, there’s the obvious ones like planning your workspace, getting inspiration from the likes of Instagram or Pinterest, etc.
Rosdi Annuar's desk backs onto a corrugated metal panel wall, with a Dell monitor on a wood shelf riser that also holds a small NAS box tucked underneath and a wood-cradled charging stand off to the side. A portable secondary display is mounted vertically on its own stand for reference material, and a memory-preset controller on the desk edge confirms the sit-stand base gets used, not just installed.
A grey mesh ergonomic chair and a matching grey leather deskmat keep the palette restrained against the desk's warm wood tones, and a handwritten note propped in a small stand is the one non-digital object in reach of the keyboard. Everything else — camera, light bar, keyboard, mouse — reads as chosen for function first.
It tracks with Rosdi's own approach: skip the trend-driven purchases, plan the layout first, and only add what the work actually needs — a chartered accountant's desk, run the way a chartered accountant would run it.
