Start as soon as possible, even if you’re working with a small budget.
Ben's studio runs dark — a slatted wood panel wall lit by a single vertical pink LED strip behind a rig of hanging camera lenses, an Apple Studio Display parked above a second monitor tilted flat for reference. A retro typewriter-style keyboard in cream and walnut brown sits on the Hexcal desk mat next to a Logitech MX Master and a Maono mixer with light-up faders.
Hexcal Studio's riser runs an integrated LED strip under the main display, and the phone dock built into the desk edge holds a MagSafe case styled like a DJ mixer — a small joke on a desk that already looks built for broadcast.
