SummaryA 14-day longitudinal study with 19 participants evaluated PAIR, a theory-based emotion-regulation companion agent, across 1,093 sessions. Guided conversations improved post-interaction valence, and perceived helpfulness increased over time as memory updates and retained corrections enabled cross-session personalization.
Why it mattersA field study of 1,093 sessions showing how a companion agent's helpfulness compounds through memory and corrections — concrete data on what makes sustained agent interactions actually work.
