SummaryA systems engineering framework embeds Vision Language Models as coordination agents in UAV disaster response, integrating natural language interaction, mission-level task coordination, and Incident Command System communication. A seven-participant human-factors evaluation showed reduced perceived workload and high AI trust ratings.
Why it mattersProposes VLM-as-coordinator in a human-autonomy team rather than as mere decision support, with early workload and trust data attached.
