SummaryResearch paper presenting U-Lens, a system that helps users manage uncertainty in long LLM responses by organizing uncertain content into contextual inspection targets, prioritizing them, and linking each to evaluative context and response options. A within-subjects study with 18 participants showed improved verification efficiency and lower perceived workload compared to a confidence-cue baseline.
Why it mattersReframes uncertainty support from isolated confidence scores to a three-stage process of interpretation, evaluation, and decision — useful framing for anyone designing or choosing LLM reading interfaces.
