SummaryA controlled experiment finds that higher variance in AI-generated design sets increases selection of center-proximal options, revealing central tendency bias in multi-variation interfaces that constrains selection diversity in human-AI co-creation.
Why it mattersIdentifies a specific cognitive bias in AI co-creation interfaces, with direct implications for how multi-variation selection tools should be designed.
