In their own words
Honestly, I’d say start simple and focus on what makes your workspace comfortable and functional. Don’t overthink it!!! Good lighting, decent chair, and keeping things organized go a long way. For me, I like setups that look clean but still feel personal, with a mix of tech and little touches that make the space mine. Experiment, tweak, and just make it a spot you enjoy spending time in. :)

Observation notes
An environmental engineer and building energy consultant working from home in Nitra, Slovakia, Matt Gocman approaches his desk the same way he approaches buildings: solve for comfort and function first, then let the rest follow. His philosophy — 'start simple, don't overthink it, and make it a spot you genuinely enjoy spending time in' — shows clearly in the warm walnut surface, the ergo-first chair, and the plants that soften the room without crowding the work.
